What Study Time Table for Class 10 Should Look Like

    • September 13, 2025
    • 6 min read

“To achieve great things, two things are needed: a clear plan and limited time.”- Alexander Dumas.

Having a set timetable not only speeds up the process but also improves the quality of the outcome. No matter how challenging the task may be, breaking the process into smaller, achievable steps and organizing them in a timetable makes it both practical and doable. This is why we’ve added an easy to follow study time table for class 10 students appearing for boards.

Many students spend long hours studying relentlessly, yet achieve less than they could with a proper schedule. The key lies in working smart, not just working hard. A timetable helps you do exactly that by allowing you to prioritize tasks and use your time efficiently.

Things to keep in mind when creating a timetable

Your study timetable for Class 10 should align with your study goals, learning style, and the difficulty level of your subjects. Before you create a study timetable, here are a few things to keep in mind:

    1. Setting a goal is essential

Everything starts with setting a goal. Your ultimate goal might be to score well in exams, but breaking it down into small, achievable steps will help you stay focused and monitor your progress. Moreover, achieving small goals will also boost your confidence.

    2. Focus on every subject

You might find English very easy, but not allocating time for it would be a mistake. No matter how easy or difficult a subject is, every subject needs to be studied regularly. You can spend extra time on complex subjects, but make sure you revise easy subjects also.

    3. Creating a daily to-do list helps

A daily to-do list along with a weekly or monthly timetable helps enormously. A to-do list allows you to keep track of your everyday progress. If you are ahead of your schedule in one subject, you can make slight changes in your timetable and allocate more time for the subject you are struggling with.

    4. Regular revisions are important

Revisions are important. Otherwise, you will keep studying and keep forgetting. Make sure you allot time for revisions within your study time table for class 10.

    5. Asking for help prevents delays

If you are stuck somewhere, asking for help will not harm. Whether it is a math problem or a difficult science chapter, seek help from your teachers or peers.

    6. Sample tests help in self-evaluation

Another way of tracking progress is through sample tests. Get sample papers from previous years and solve them to determine your current standing. Mock tests will also help you in practicing time management for your real exam.

    7. Taking breaks is not optional

Toppers study timetable for class 10 has one thing in common- they take regular breaks. Short breaks prevent burnout and improve concentration.

Take a 5 to 10-minute break every 40-50 minutes. Take a short walk, listen to your favorite music, or play with your pet. Do anything that makes you feel relaxed.

How to plan the best study timetable for class 10?

Here is your step-by-step guide to creating the best study time table for class 10:

    1. Eat well, sleep well

No matter how close your exams are or how behind you are in your planned study schedule, eat well and get enough sleep. Compromising on these two essential things will kill your concentration and hamper your health. Make sure you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

    2. Determine your peak productivity hours

Before anything, figure out your peak productivity hours. Some students feel more focused during early morning hours, but for some, their productivity peaks late in the night. Find out what works best for you.

    3. Go through your syllabus

Make a list of all the subjects and break down the syllabus for each subject. Categorize the chapters according to their difficulty level, length, and unit-wise weightage. It will help you allocate time for the subjects and chapters in priority order.

    4. Organize your study material

Physical clutter can clutter your mind, hampering your productivity. Organize all your study material to create a clutter-free study environment. Get your textbooks and notes in order. Write down all the important concepts, definitions, and formulas in one place for quick review.

    5. Make a daily study plan

Include all the complex subjects and chapters in your daily study plan. Allocate more time to subjects that rank high in terms of difficulty. Study difficult subjects every day and limit easy subjects to 2 or 3 days. Allocate at least one hour for revision every day.

    6. Assess yourself

Allow one day for revision and self-assessment. Spend half your day going through everything you studied in the last week, and the other half in assessing yourself.

Solve practice papers and take a mock test. Once you identify your strengths and weaknesses, change the timetable for the next week accordingly.
